Conducting field research to help protect our mysterious little friends in the Hudson
The American Eel Project is a conservation effort aimed at protecting and restoring American eel populations in our waterways. American eels are a migratory species found along the Atlantic coast of North America and are known for their migrations between freshwater and saltwater environments.
Included activities: monitor eel populations, address threats to their habitat, implement measures to ensure safe passage through dams during their migration
This work is critical for maintaining the health of ecosystems and supporting the recovery of declining eel populations.
